Manual spraying is still common, but it is slow, demanding and exposes farmers to products. Drones change the equation on several points.
The advantages of drones
- Much faster: several hectares per hour.
- Regular and precise dosing across the whole plot.
- No direct contact with phytosanitary products.
- Access to tall crops and wet terrain.
When manual spraying still makes sense
For very small areas or occasional localized treatments, manual spraying may be enough. As soon as surface area increases, drones become more profitable and safer.
